Word is Bond Know Your Rights Video Series, Part 1 of 3. Traffic Stop. Part of the Word is Bond, Know your Rights, training series. In this video, community ambassadors educate viewers on their rights when they are pulled over during a traffic stop. False assumption: If you dress nice, talk polite, and do what the officer says you will be safe. Black people have been well-spoken, dressed nicely, and still been detained, harassed, and killed. This video does not guarantee your safety or outcome during an encounter with police officers.

Rising Leaders 2019, I Am Somebody. The Word is Bond summer video project for Rising leaders summer internship 2019. The theme of the summer was I am Somebody. Follow the journey of these young men as they travel through the city, discuss ways to make change, and influence their peers to join them.

✊🏿Word is Bond Night Mentor stories✊🏽: Community Ambassador Ja’Mari and Officer Khalid of @portlandpolice introducing each other at mentor night. Mentor Nights bring together Black mentor and mentees monthly for 1 on 1 mentoring in a group setting. We curate our mentor spaces to be culturally affirming and make sure to pair our mentees with a Black mentor who looks like them and comes from similar experiences. Stay tuned for more mentor stories. 💡

The Word is Bond 2020 Rising Leaders Community Showcase. Presented live from Vancouver Avenue First Baptist Church in Portland, OR presented by the 2020 community ambassadors who were joined by participating officers. The showcase was presented with limited in-person attendance due to covid-19 and was streamed via Zoom and social media platforms to supporters across the city and the world. This summer we had a cohort of 14 youth leaders from across Portland in both high-school and college as well as 10 law enforcement officers. Thank you to Pastor Hennessee and the staff at VAFBC for allowing us to use the space.

I Got A Story to Tell Virtual Poetry Reading. Word is Bond community ambassador's read select pieces from their debut poetry collection, I Got A Story to Tell. The poems speak to themes of racial justice, community safety, and the Black experience. After their reading, they took questions from a live audience. Word is Bond: A Letter to The Black Boys Poem. Word is Bond community ambassadors Ristom Habetemariam, Amariea Rhone, Kapalisok Laila, and Iman Abdi are joined by Portland Trail Blazer NBA players Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum, Carmelo Anthony, Gary Trent, Jr., Robert Covington, Nassir Little, and Harry Giles to perform: A Letter to the Black Boys, written by community ambassador M’Munga Songolo. This video premiered live at the Portland Trail Blazers 2020 Black History Month showcase game, Saturday, February 19, 2021.
